Analyze Mac storage: where did the space go?

In 4 steps

  1. 1

    Launch FreeSize and scan

Download FreeSize for macOS, pick your startup volume or a folder and click “Scan”. The treemap and list immediately show the biggest space users.

  2. 2

Check the typical Mac space hogs

Look especially inside your home folder: Library/Caches, Library/Application Support, Xcode data under Library/Developer, the Photos library, Mail attachments, and old iOS backups under Library/Application Support/MobileSync.

  3. 3

Open in Finder and clean up

Click a large item to open it in Finder, check it, and delete what you no longer need. FreeSize is read-only — it never deletes anything itself.

  4. 4

    Keep an eye on it

With FreeSize Pro you can monitor your volume in the background and get alerted before space runs low.
