Privacy Policy
Protecting your data is important to us. This policy describes which data we process — and which we deliberately do not.
Responsible entity
lightnet multimedia GmbH, 3376 Graben, Switzerland · info@lightnet.ch
Principle: local analysis
The FreeSize desktop app analyzes your drives locally on your device. By default, neither file names nor file contents are transmitted to us or to third parties.
Data collected when visiting the website
When you access the website, the server processes technically necessary access data (e.g. shortened IP address, time, requested resource) to ensure delivery. We do not run advertising and do not build advertising profiles.
Web analytics (Google Analytics)
To understand how our website is used, we use Google Analytics 4 provided by Google Ireland Limited, Dublin. It sets cookies and collects pseudonymous usage data (e.g. pages visited, time on page, approximate location, device and browser). The IP address is shortened and not stored permanently; Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off. Processing in countries outside Switzerland and the EU, in particular the USA, cannot be ruled out.
You can prevent this collection by blocking cookies in your browser, enabling its tracking protection / "Do Not Track" setting, or installing the Google opt-out add-on.
Customer portal & account (Pro)
For the customer portal we process your email address and a hashed password, along with subscription and billing details. The email address is used for sign-in, for confirmation (double opt-in) and for security- or subscription-related notifications.
Volume metrics (Pro, optional)
Only if you enable synchronization does FreeSize Pro send anonymous usage metrics of your monitored volumes (e.g. volume label, total size, used/free). File names or contents are never transmitted.
Payments
Payments for FreeSize Pro are processed via Stripe. Payment data is processed directly by Stripe; we do not store any complete credit card data.
Hosting
The website and portal are operated in Swiss data centers.
Disclosure
Disclosure takes place only to processors required to provide the service (e.g. payment processing, hosting), as well as to the extent required by law.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and delete your data. To do so, contact info@lightnet.ch. You can have your portal account deleted at any time.
Legal basis
Processing is governed by the Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG). Where applicable, we also comply with the GDPR.
